The Scorch Trials Is Going To Kill Me.

I'm about 2/3 of the way through The Scorch Trials by James Dashner. I LOVED The Maze Runner so I had extremely high expectations for this book. Well...to make a long story short I am not loving it at all. I'm not sure exactly what it is that is bothering me so much. The whole story just seems kind of scattered and random. I've literally had like 10 WTF moments. Ahh! How many of you have read it already? Did it confuse the crap out of you too? *sigh*

I haven't read this book yet. But I'm sad you're not enjoying the sequel as much as the firt book. I really liked The Maze Runner, too. :(

I've heard this from others too so I haven't been in a rush to read it. I figure I'll wait closer to when the third book comes out.

Hmm, see, I wasn't a big fan of The Maze Runner...wonder if I'd like Scorch Trials MORE or even less...

I'm going through the same thing!! I've read half the book and it feels like it's taken me forever to get this far. I'm not sure what the problem is either because I like the writing, I really liked the first book and have been looking forward to this one. The story is a bit bizarre but The Maze Runner was too. I don't really mind that if it comes together with a sense of direction and eventually gives some answers. This book seems to be raising so many more questions. It has confused the crap out of me too. (Metal balls on heads?) I do have to finish it though and really hope it comes together. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who feels this way but than again it's not the best indication of a good story is it?

I think the problem is the book doesn't really go anywhere...it's kind of boring and the characters are flat.
They also all talk the same way and have the same tone...just my opinion though.

I just found your blog...I didn't realize there is a sequel to The Maze Runner, which I enjoyed. I look forward to your review.
