The Sarah Stalking: A Recap With Pictures.
Monday, August 3, 2009

I got to GCS at around 11:30 and met up with follow bloggers Laura and Gail. We decided to head over to Strand for a while and whom did I see sitting by the arcs but none other than lb editor and my twitter pal @TeeEss. If you don't follow him on twitter you really should. Anyhow, so we stayed there for around 45 minutes, but I didn't find any books that I liked. The Strand seems to be running low on upcoming books lately. They still have yet to have finished copies of Rampant in stock.
The 4 of us walked over to Books of Wonder and immediately saw two Sarah’s sitting together and drinking coffee. Many hugs were to be had. Once the hugging died down I got to meet Sarah Ockler’s pet monster! He was really very nice and we had a nice conversation about my new laptop, Heather. A rather funny and somewhat embarrassing motion occurred when I started telling this older couple what a great book Twenty Boy Summer is. It turns out that they were Sarah Ockler’s in-laws!
One thing I did learn about Sarah’s is that they sure love to talk! The Sarah Q&A discussion lasted most of the two hours. Sarah Rees Brennan gets the award for being the funniest. She had us all in fits of laughter for most of the two hours. When the discussion finally ended, I went up from to pick up a copy of Into the Wild by Sarah Beth Durst to get signed. She was really very sweet. She had a copy of Ice sitting next to her and I told her I was going to tackle it and take it for Yan. Then we talked a little bit about the Traveling to Teens Tours and made some other small talk. I saw Laura talking to SRB so I quickly walked over and exposed myself for the gushing fan-girl that I am. SRB was very sweet too and I’m so happy that I finally had the chance to meet her! That leaves only one of the Sarah debs that I need to meet. Oh, Sarah Quigley where art thou?

The Sarahs: Sarah Beth Durst, Sarah Cross, Sarah Rees Brennan, Sarah Ockler, and Sarah MacLean

The Sarahs and some bloggers: Mitali, Sarah Beth Durst, Sarah Cross, Sarah Rees Brennan, Sarah Ockler, Sarah MacLean, Gail, and me
Thanks to all the Sarahs for allowing me to stalk you!

I love those chocolates! That was very clever of them.
Sounds like a great time, too bad I live in Canada where no one ever visits. ;) At least in my part of Canada, anyhow.
Thanks for the recap!

OMG, your post is freakin' hilarious! Ridiculous that they considered it a "signing", but I totally wish I had one of their chocolates!!!

Next time the Sarahs are all in a group we must remember to bring our spy equipment to hear more of their world domination plot! You also forgot to mention that, there was a lot of talk about weapons! And I don't care what Sarah Ockler was saying...for while sea glass isn't very sharp real glass is...and well...i think you can see where I am going. lol

I hope they didn't put anything in that chocolate, DUN DUN DUN. Like something that will make you want to support the Sarahs no matter what.
LOOKS LIKE FUUUUUUUN.

Crazy story. I only started reasing your blog a few weeks ago (love the reviews!) and got especially excited when I saw you got a lot of books at The Strand because I was going to NYC this past weekend. I went there and guess who I recognized walking out when I was leaving an aisle?
You! I totally recognized you from your profile photo and the pic when you met up with one up with another blogger and Sarah Ockler one other time in NYC (from her blog). Too funny! Hmmm I just hope I didn't snatch up any of the ARCS you were looking for since I was there before you guys.
Sounds like you had a great time, I wish I'd known about the Sarah event ahead of time. I really need to pay more attention!

Lenore, you need to move to NY and just follow me around everywhere. This way I no longer feel so tall.
Irish, oh yes the weapons talk! The Sarah's know a little too much about weapons if you ask me.
Khy, no worries. I ate all of the chocolate and I'm still on team everyone else.
Rebecca, you should have tackled me and said hello. It would have been awesome! I think you did get all the good arcs btw. lol
